Hope you are all enjoying your break from school and rugby commitments. Although the remainder of the rugby season is short it is a very busy time for the Rugby Club.

The senior players are back training in readiness for final games and  plans are afoot for the end of season Award Presentation Dinner. There are more details on this below.

This Sunday 19 July I would encourage you to come along to the TOBA Sports Day and watch the young guns from Trinity take on the Old Boys of the yesteryear. It is always a very festive day and all family members are welcome. Full catering and sausage sizzle is provided by TOBA.

Thanks to all parents for your support for the Rugby Club to date and I look forward to the rest of the season.

MATCH REPORTS

1ST XV

AQUINAS COLLEGE 17  v  TRINITY COLLEGE 20

Although we won the game this was definitely not our finest hour of rugby. After drawing with Aquinas a couple of weeks prior we were hoping that in this return game we would show our true potential as a team and have a convincing victory.

There were glimmers of this in parts of the game but our inconsistency, lack of intensity and failure to take our opportunities let us down. Some may say we were unlucky, we had four tries held up.

Special mention must go to Jack Connelly who played his best game this year, he showed great courage and tenacity. In the end it was the quick thinking of our fly half Sam Harris whose drop goal at a critical time of the game which helped seal victory for us. Well done to Sam.

Hopefully our well earned rest will have us hungry for our next tough encounter against Scotch.

Traditionally at the Award Presentation Dinner the coaches of each year group are presented with a gift from their team as gesture of thanks for their work during the rugby season. Your year representative will be in touch to organise this. Notes regarding this have already gone home with the 1st and 2nd XV players.

TEAM PHOTOS

Team photos will be taken prior to the Guildford home fixture on Friday 31 July and Saturday 1 August. Dress standard is full rugby sports uniform; white shorts, playing top and Trinity rugby socks. It would be appreciated if parents ensured that their sons have the correct uniform for these photos.

The last of the Canterbury rugby apparel, kit bags, will arrive on the 31/07/09. Further advice regarding collection will be given then.

HALE FIXTURE
